  1. Ada,your nutcrackers are the cutest cookies I have seen this Christmas!! I love them! No special cookie cutter needed, just special cookie decorating skill. 🙂 I have an adult niece who collects nutcrackers. I am pinning these to remember to try this as a gift for her next year! Can I ask how you got the sparkly gold? Is is painted over the icing?
Plus, as cute as these cookies are, they are out shined by your adorable kids! Both of them have such gorgeous big brown eyes (with maybe just a twinkle of mischief in them?).
Wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas!

    1. Thank you so much Wendy!! The gold “paint” is an edible gold powder, called luster dust. You put a small amount in a container and just a few drops of vodka or any other liquor with high alcohol percentage. Then you stir it to form a paste not so thick not so liquid. Using a small paintbrush you paint on dry royal icing or sugar paste area. It’s an easy procedure yet so impressive, hope you try it 🙂
